Through adaptive reuse projects, vacant and underused structures can be transformed into cultural spaces, housing, workplaces, and neighborhood hubs that fuel growth. Our Fast Forward presentation will highlight recent success stories, explore reuse opportunities like the Roundhouse and former schools, and discuss the policy changes needed to make adaptive reuse a central strategy for a more vibrant, sustainable, and attractive Philadelphia.

About the Speaker
Hanna Stark is the Director of Policy and Communications at the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, where she advocates for policies that protect historic spaces while encouraging sustainable development. Prior to her current role, she worked in the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Government Relations department.
Hanna has an M.S. in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Architecture from Clemson University. In addition to her work at the Preservation Alliance, Hanna serves on the board of the Preservation Action Foundation and Young Involved Philadelphia.
